The Dubai Frame Experience: Three Journeys
The Past
Old Dubai Gallery
Your journey begins on the mezzanine floor with a multimedia exhibition featuring 3D projections and special effects — a multi-sensory experience of Old Dubai, showing Emirati traditions and heritage and how the city transformed from a humble fishing village to one of the most luxurious destinations in the world.
Mezzanine Level
Sky Deck — 150m
The Present
Views of Old and New Dubai
After the Past gallery, you take the elevator to the Sky Deck at 150 meters. From here you see Old Dubai (Deira, Karama) on one side and New Dubai (Burj Khalifa, Emirates Towers) on the other. The glass-bottomed bridge is 93 meters long with motion-sensor activated transparent glass panels.
The Future
Future Dubai Exhibition
The journey ends with an exhibition showing what Dubai will look like in the future — the ambitions, projects, and vision for the coming decades.
Ground Level Exit
The Dubai Frame Glass Bridge
The Dubai Frame glass bridge — officially called the Sky Bridge — is the most talked-about feature of the entire experience. Stretching 93 metres across the top of the Frame at 150 metres above ground, it connects the two towers with a floor made of multi-layer laminated glass using liquid crystal (smart glass) technology.
When you approach, the glass appears frosted and opaque. Step forward and motion sensors trigger the liquid crystal layer, turning the floor instantly transparent beneath your feet — revealing a sheer 150-metre drop to Zabeel Park. The experience is entirely safe (the glass is engineered to handle loads far beyond visitor capacity) but genuinely thrilling.
Tip for the nervous: Walk along the solid edges first, breathe, then ease toward the glass centre. Read our complete Sky Walk guide for more advice.
